Sandy’s Home Stay

This property is called a homestay, but it lacks the warmth and personal touch you would expect from one. Upon entering the room, the first thing you notice are instructions about charges and rules, rather than a welcoming environment. The food prices are quite high, which makes you hesitate before ordering. Adding to the inconvenience, nearby restaurants and eateries are quite far. In-house services were also below expectations. I tried reaching out for assistance on a few occasions, but responses were slow, and calls made through the intercom often went unanswered. If you’re only looking for a place to stay overnight, this could work. However, if you need better connectivity to transport, dining options, or timely assistance, you may want to consider other options. I personally traveled here after a disaster occurred in Katra and required support, which I was unable to get during my stay.

A very good option if you want to stay at a place just like your home. Owner and the care taker both are very helpful. They will make you feel like at home.

Had the pleasure to stay here for one night and did not regret it. Room was large, bed comfortable and bathroom clean. AC working fine too. In addition to this, the house itself is very impressive and the hosts are very nice. They speak perfect English and are happy to share some really, really interesting stories about India that you wouldn’t hear elsewhere. Highly recommend!

A very beautiful and clean house, with spacious rooms. The host is very kind, and you can ask him any questions you have. We had a great time chatting together. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Jammu. Highly recommended!
