6 months agoMy recent stay at The Maharaja Hotel in Vaishno Devi Katra was unfortunately marred by significant issues with the air conditioning. I booked two rooms, and in the first room we were assigned, the AC simply wasn't cooling. After multiple complaints, they moved us to a different room, but frustratingly, the AC in that room also didn't work properly. Dealing with two rooms in a row with non-functional AC was incredibly disappointing and made our stay very uncomfortable, especially after a long day. Reliable AC is a basic expectation, and this really needs to be addressed. I hope the hotel improves this for future guests.

8 months agoThis place is highly disappointing from a staff perspective. The staff exhibits extremely poor behavior; they enter rooms without permission and openly inspect personal belongings by looking around. If you deny entry, they disregard your request and behave rudely. In simple terms, this hotel is not suitable for women or families due to safety concerns. Even when fully occupied, the staff's behavior toward women remains unacceptable. To make matters worse, they refused to provide the station drop-off service they had promised at the time of booking, seemingly in response to this review. Overall, a very bad experience with both the hotel and its service.

11 months agoHotel Review: 1/5 Rating I stayed at this hotel from December 26th to December 28th, 2024, in the room C8 & C9 (3rd floor) and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. Here are the reasons for my low rating: - Rooms: - Damp rooms with broken wooden frames on windows, allowing cold winds to enter. - No provision for room heaters, and the hotel charged Rs. 300/- per heater, which is unacceptable in winter. - Some lights in the room were not functioning. - Presence of small cockroaches on surfaces like the table, bed, and telephone. - Accumulation of dirt and dust beneath the bed, showcasing poor cleanliness. - Facilities & Services: - Hot water was difficult to obtain; we had to waste at least 2 buckets of water to get hot water. - Lack of basic amenities such as a shaving kit, dental kit, comb, etc., which are expected in a decent hotel. - Misleading Information: - The hotel claims to be a 3-star property, but it fails to meet even the basic standards. - The photos displayed on the website and Google are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual state of the rooms, doors, and bathrooms. This experience was far below expectations. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, or good service. It was a waste of money and a significant letdown.
