a month agoDachigam National Park, a short drive from Srinagar, is a quiet mountain sanctuary of forests, alpine meadows and rich birdlife where the rare Hangul (Kashmir stag) still survives — visiting feels like stepping from the city into a peaceful, photogenic wildroom of streams, trails and sudden animal sightings; it’s perfect for a half-day wildlife escape (permits are required and mornings give the best chances to spot wildlife).

7 months agoDachigam Park is a nice place to visit, especially if you enjoy nature and peaceful surroundings. It’s a good spot for a walk, with fresh air and scenic views. In terms of wildlife, the park mainly houses Brown Bears, Black Bears, and Leopards, along with a fish farm. While it’s interesting, the variety of animals is quite limited. Overall, it’s a good place to explore, though not the most exciting if you’re expecting a wide range of wildlife. Still, it’s worth a visit for the natural beauty and quiet atmosphere.

4 weeks agoDachigam National Park is a calm and beautiful place with clean surroundings and well-maintained trails. During our visit we only spotted a leopard and a bear—no other animals were visible at the time, though the area clearly has rich wildlife. The fish hatchery inside the park is a highlight and is very well managed, showing the conservation work happening there. The whole environment feels fresh, peaceful, and worth visiting for nature lovers.
