Kashmir Great Lakes is located in the very north of India, which is called the paradise of India, Kashmir is where this trek is done. This trekking route is covered with incredible natural beauty, which cannot be described in words. This trek starts from Sonmarg to Naranang, this trek is of moderate-difficult nature, it takes about 6-7 days, about 72-75 km of distance has to be covered. Beginners should not start from this trek, it will be beneficial to do this trek with 2-3 easy to moderate trekking experiences first. You will see some amazing lakes here, such as Bishnusar, Krishnasar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangbal etc. and many more. This trek is only from July to September of the year. Another very important thing is to carry your identity card with you, there will be checkpoints at several places here, you will have to show it there.

Kashmir truly is "Heaven on Earth." Completing my second trek in the Himalayas was moderately challenging. With good company, we reached an altitude of 4,206 meters and covered a total of 69 kilometers. We were treated to stunning alpine lakes and rivers, wild flowers, majestic peaks, and the breathtaking Milky Way.

Kashmir Great Lakes has one of the most beautiful trails. It’s beauty can’t be described in words, it’s amazing and stunning landscapes, lakes and especially different flowers makes it worth to do this trek again and again. It’s a difficult trek with everyday trek around 6-8 hours and not recommend for beginners.Local villagers are helpful but it is advisable to hire a guide who will help you to complete this trek smoothly and safely.Aadhar card is must to carry as there are many check points during the trek where they will check your ID cards and at last I will recommend strongly to do this trek and this trek should be there in everyone’s bucket list.

Great trek I’ll say this trek is difficult as you have to cover around 90km within 4-5 days depending upon your guide and it’s national level trek. Better to visit it during june or starting July Weather condition is better at that time. Views are breathtaking and life long memories.

Spanning around 70 kilometers, the trek covers picturesque lakes, lush meadows, dense forests, and snow-capped mountain peaks. It typically lasts 7-9 days and offers trekkers the chance to experience pristine wilderness, crossing high-altitude passes like Gadsar Pass and enjoying views of serene lakes such as Vishansar, Krishansar, and Gadsar.
