a year agoAlpathar Lake is also known as a frozen lake, for this place receives huge snowfall during winter and is not accessible during this time. The Freezed lake starts to melt in March but the slabs of ice still float in the water. It is accessible by three ways from the Gulmarg, through the cable car ride, a motorable road, and by trekking.

a year agoAlpather Lake 2 is a stunning, pristine lake located just on the other side of the mountain that cradles Alpather Lake 1. Unlike its more popular counterpart, Alpather Lake 2 remains largely untouched and rarely visited, offering a tranquil and secluded experience for those who make the trek. It’s a hidden gem, just a 45-minute hike from Alpather Lake 1, making it an ideal destination for adventurers seeking solitude and unspoiled natural beauty. The lake's serene atmosphere and breathtaking surroundings make it a perfect spot to escape the crowds and enjoy the untouched wilderness.

3 months agoAlpather Lake, also known as the “Frozen Lake,” is a stunning high-altitude water body located at the foot of Afarwat Peak near Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir. Situated at an elevation of around 4,390 meters, the lake lies about 13 kilometers from Gulmarg and is surrounded by majestic snow-covered mountains of the Pir Panjal range. Its enchanting beauty and pristine environment make it one of the most picturesque destinations in the valley. The lake is most famous for remaining frozen for almost eight months of the year, from November to June. Even during summer, one can often spot floating ice sheets on its clear waters, which adds to its mystical charm. Trekking to Alpather Lake is a favorite adventure activity for tourists. The popular **Alpather Lake Trek** begins from Gulmarg and passes through meadows, streams, and steep terrains, offering breathtaking views along the way. In summer, the surrounding landscape comes alive with wildflowers, while in winter, the lake area is blanketed with snow, creating a serene atmosphere. Alpather Lake also holds geographical importance as it is fed by the melting snow of Afarwat Peak and contributes to the water systems of the region.
