Char Chinar, located on the serene waters of Dal Lake in Srinagar, is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and photographers. Named after the four majestic Chinar trees that stand on the island, the place offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and calm waters. It’s accessible by a shikara ride, which in itself is a peaceful and scenic experience. The island is small, but its charm lies in its simplicity and natural beauty. The tall, ancient Chinar trees provide shade and a sense of history, making it a perfect spot to relax, click pictures, or enjoy a quiet moment. While the island doesn’t have many modern amenities, it’s a great place to experience the raw, untouched side of Kashmir. Some visitors note that maintenance could be improved, but the natural charm more than makes up for it. It’s especially beautiful during autumn when the Chinar leaves turn golden and red. Vendors on shikaras often float by with snacks and souvenirs, adding to the unique experience. Today I came to visit Dal Lake on in Srinagar Kashmi on 27 July 2025 and last year in 2024 i had also come in August month .
