Trusar or three lakes is a popular hiking route which is generally considered to be difficult. It's remote, it features medium exposure and is typically done between July and October. From a low point of 2.7 km to the maximum altitude of 4.1 km, the route covers 17 km from Doodhpathri. Other routes are from Yusemarg via Barga meadow and Danzeb or from Shidek shrine keller Pulwama.

On 1-08-2023 we started the trek from doodhpathri to ashtaar valley where we laid our base camp. Due to bad weather conditions we started the trek on day 3 at 7:30am in the morning and after a long trek we reached trusar lakes at 2:00pm. The trek was a bit harder at the last moment and overall visibility was low during the trek, but as we reached the lakes, weather conditions flipped and we had a clear vision of the lakes and the mountains around. We descended back at 3:00pm and reached back to our tents at 7:30pm...i would personally recommend going there with proper gear
