The crystal-clear spring at the center, the calm sound of flowing water, and the ancient Mughal architecture made the whole place magical. Surrounded by tall chinar trees and fresh air, it’s the perfect escape from noise and stress. Not too crowded, very clean, and full of natural beauty. 6 months agoA beautiful Mughal garden located in Verinag. It is surrounded by mountains and its spring is the source of the river Jhelum. This garden has an octagonal spring that has Persian inscriptions on the walls by Emperor Jahangir. It is built in Mughal style of architecture. This garden is visited by locals as well as tourists from different parts of the country. It is well laid with trees, bushes and fountains. There is no entry fee. However, there are toilet facilities outside the garden where they are not maintained properly. This garden is ideal for families, couples as well as friends. It is a must visit and should not be missed while in Verinag.

5 months agoVerinag, located at the foothills of the Pir Panjal range in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, is a destination that beautifully blends history, architecture, and natural beauty. This iconic spot is famous for the Verinag Spring, the primary source of the mighty Jhelum River. 🏞️ What Makes Verinag Special: The octagonal stone pavilion around the spring, built by Mughal emperor Jahangir in the early 17th century, is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Walking through the arched pathways feels like stepping back in time. The spring itself is crystal clear, with a mesmerizing blue hue, and surrounded by chinar trees that add a magical touch, especially in autumn when leaves turn golden-red. The Verinag Mughal Garden, although smaller than Srinagar’s famous gardens, is exquisitely laid out with terraced lawns, fountains, and floral beds – perfect for picnics or a quiet stroll. 🏡 Comfort & Food: Verinag is less commercialized than other tourist hubs, so facilities are basic but clean. Small local dhabas serve tasty Kashmiri food like Gushtaba, Yakhni, and Kahwa. 🛣️ Getting There: Verinag is about 80 km from Srinagar and 26 km from Anantnag town, easily accessible via a scenic drive through orchards and lush valleys. 🌸 Best Time to Visit: March to November is ideal for pleasant weather and vibrant gardens. Autumn is particularly breathtaking with colorful foliage. 🌟 Final Verdict: Verinag is a serene, historically rich destination perfect for travelers who love Mughal architecture, crystal springs, and peaceful natural settings away from the crowds. ⭐ Rating: 4.7/5 – An enchanting slice of Kashmir’s heritage worth exploring!
