Taj Dal View, Srinagar

Perched on top of a hill with amazing views of the Dal. The food, staff from housekeeping to the GM everyone is friendly and attentive. Special mention to Bhavyesh in the restaurant. Very knowledgeable and polite. We ate most meals here. The Kashmiri fare is very tasty. Taj Dal view lives up to and maintains that standard of “Tajness” one would expect. The room we booked faced the Dal and full glass. Beautiful and large!

The location is PRIME on a height overlooking the lake, which is great ONLY during summer months, but expect NO views due to the mist and fog in winter. Have always lived in Taj properties, but this was probably the most disappointing service wise. The included buffet breakfast, and the hospitality during breakfast by chef Sunil’s team was probably the only excellent redeeming feature . The worst was the concierge service ( particularly from Mudassar) who gave incomplete and incorrect information regarding local excursions , wanted only to sell the Taj transportation, which is more than twice the price of usual transportation and to visit businesses and restaurants that he likely was tied up for commission. You’re better off asking Google and ChatGPT for recommendations on where to go and where to eat!! Also the so called spa had only one female therapist who was on vacation and no spa treatments were available for any women.

Visited this property as we were fascinated with the view. Also has a chance to check out their restaurant. It might be the best views among any hotel I’ve ever visited. Taj really has the best of properties across length & breadth of India. Located on a hilltop & we had to drive atop the mountain. Has breathtaking views of Srinagar & entire Dal lake. Staff is courteous, clean interiors & bathrooms. Definitely worth the stay for someone who can afford it.

Our stay at Taj Dal View was a symphony of beauty and warmth. It was my parents’ first visit to Kashmir, and the team made it truly special. The reception staff - Suhail, Burhan, Iqbal, Fizia, Ishfak, and Imtiyaz - embodied hospitality at its finest: gracious, attentive, and effortlessly kind. The dining staff too were exceptional, turning every meal into a memory. Taj Dal View doesn’t merely offer comfort; it offers care - the rare kind that lingers in the heart long after departure.

We had a wonderful time at Taj Dal View Hotel, Srinagar. As the name suggests, the view was absolutely breathtaking! The rooms were very comfortable, spotless, and well, equipped with tea and coffee stations. The food was delicious, couldn’t have asked for anything better. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and accommodating, making our stay truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Srinagar!
