    Sun Temple built by King Lalitaditya in 8th century CE. It is an excellent example of Hindu Kashmiri Architecture, which was destroyed in 13th century by Islamic invaders.

    Martand sun temple is one of the antient temple here in kashmir. it is very beautifully structured. what to beauty still existing in India the concept and historty is well carved and depicted there. people loving history must visit this place. it was one of the archeological sites where artifacts were taken for study. The entry is free. it is easily accessible to reach. we met the security guard there he was very friendly and explained us the histrory and importance of this place. overall It is a must visit place to visit
