My visit to Bagh-e-Bahu in Jammu was a refreshing and memorable experience. Located on the banks of the Tawi River and right below the iconic Bahu Fort, this garden is one of the most peaceful and scenic places to spend time in the city. The moment you enter the premises, you are welcomed by lush greenery, neatly maintained pathways, and a calm atmosphere that makes it perfect for families, couples, tourists, and even solo visitors. The garden is spacious and beautifully landscaped with colourful flowers, fountains, seating areas, and open lawns. The view of the river and the city from the higher points is truly stunning, especially during the evening when the lights start to glow around the fort. It’s an ideal place for photography, morning/evening walks, or simply relaxing away from the hustle of the city. One of the highlights here is the famous underground aquarium, which is a major attraction for children. It is well-maintained, and the variety of fish species displayed makes it an interesting spot to explore. The entire area is clean, and the management has done a good job in maintaining hygiene and security. There are ample seating benches, food stalls nearby, and enough space for picnics. However, weekends can get a little crowded, so mornings or late evenings are the best times to visit for a quieter experience.
