With the gargling Bringhi river flowing through it, Daksum Valley is one of the hidden delights of Kashmir. It is one of the unexplored places and is only visited by nature-enthusiasts. The valley is nestled in the Pir Panjal range with snow-capped mountains in the backdrop forming the perfect scenery. The thick forests with coniferous trees are one the highlights here. While walking through grassy and lush meadows, you will see that they are also pastoral grounds for sheeps. It is perfect for activities like trekking, hiking and setting camps anywhere in the vast landscapes. You can rest under the starry skies sharing life-stories. It forms the perfect ambience for stargazing. It also has many attractions like forests, botanical gardens, streams etc. The best thing about this place is its stirring location and that it is very walker’s delight. It turns into a tropical haven from May to October. Tranquillity and peace can be felt in the air. It is that serene. Plan a trip to Daksum valley, located just 85 kilometres away from Srinagar to have an unforgettable experience. ___#cliffhangersindia

A perfect offbeat destination in the lap of Breng valley. This place is soothing and relaxing but lacks some basic facilities like washrooms and accomodation. It can be converted into an all round place for recreation.

Daksum is located on Anantnag-Semthan-Kishtwar road (NH-1B), about 85 km from Srinagar, on the trekking route to Kishtwar. The trail leads to Sinthan Pass and Sinthan top from this point. People going to Sinthan top usually make a stop at Daksum and Dandipora. For air tripper, the closest airport is at Srinagar. Tourist taxis and buses are available from Srinagar airport for Anantnag (66 km). On reaching Anantnag, drive across Achabal and Kokernag to reach Daksum. Rail travellers can board a train to Anantnag, Srinagar (98 km) and Jammu Tawi Railway station (296 km), and hire a public transport from the railhead. Daksum is located enroute Sinthan Top near Kokernag Springs on crossing Achabal Mughal Gardens. There is a tourist accommodation run by the state government where electricity may or may not be available.
