Worst Car Rental in Kashmir! Avoid Escape the City car rental at all costs! This was the WORST travel experience we've ever had, and it completely ruined our trip. First, they made us travel 1 hour just to pick up the car ourselves and when we reached, we were shocked to see it had a white number plate (a private vehicle, not legal for rentals). On top of that, they told us to lie to the police and army and say it's our friend’s car. Totally shady and irresponsible. We had no time to argue because we were already running late for our pre-booked conveyance to Pahalgam. So, under pressure, we took the car and paid ₹6000 upfront. Within just an hour of driving, we noticed a strong diesel smell, and the AC wasn’t working at all. We called them, and they pretended like everything was fine. We Took the car to a workshop! they confirmed a diesel leak! We had to pay ₹1000 out of pocket to fix it, and we had already added ₹1500 of diesel, all of which was wasted due to the poor condition of their vehicle. The company flat-out refused to refund anything. Then came Day 2 — and the nightmare continued. The car broke down in the middle of the road on the way to Srinagar. The battery died, steering oil locked, and we were stranded. It took us 2 hours to get help, and the army had to push the car off the road! Meanwhile, the owner was completely unresponsive and unhelpful. We lost valuable time, money, and our entire travel schedule got messed up because of their pathetic, unsafe, and illegal car. They take no responsibility and have no shame. Escape the City = Escape your vacation. DO NOT rent from these scammers. We had to take public car later as you all can see in last few pictures

Pros: - Manager Waseem Bhai : Always available on call and any support required. - 2011 Model Robust build and excellent off-road (4x4) - Spacious and Comfortable ride (Did around 1000+ kms) - Ac & Heater was working perfectly ( From -2C to 24C) - Efficient Fuel Consumption : 10-11km/L - Price : Undoubtedly, Best in whole Kashmir - Best Part : No Deposit/Advance (None offers this) - Airport Pickup Drop - Waseem Bhai offered Airport Pickup and Drop at Nominal Price Cons: - Service : Though it was a minor issue but wheel alignment could be better - Music : The speakers are not Hi-Fi modern ones but works decent - Maps : Though infotainment was touchbased, it was missing Google/Apple maps support. - Though it was purely our badluck that the car breakdown twice in our trip but things got sorted as it was handled well by Waseem bhai and local support. Rented this Thar from escape the city for 6 day's, It was an amazing experience with self drive car in kashmir .We covered gulmarg,baramulla, pahalgam and sonmarg in 5 days all because of this well maintained vehicle. We didn't had to bargain with the taxi unions all over kashmir plus we had our own liberty of time. Thankyou wasim bhai and team escape the city for making our trip so wonderful, the best part about you guys were very supportive from day 1 and made sure that we had hassel free experience through out our trip We are coming back again in summers will meet you guys soon.🙂✌️
