Government Medical College and Hospital, located in the heart of Jammu, stands as a premier institution committed to delivering quality healthcare and advanced medical education. Established in 1973, this hospital has grown remarkably, expanding to a 1700-bed facility with multiple associated hospitals, including specialized centers for psychiatry, dentistry, and more. Patients and locals recognize it as a vital referral center serving not only Jammu province but also neighboring regions. The expertise available here spans numerous specialties such as cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, and pediatrics, supported by a large team of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff dedicated to patient welfare. The hospital also functions as an educational institution, training both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, which adds to the dynamic and committed culture witnessed on-site. a year agoNot the best, but it has improved a lot from what it was 3 yrs ago, Centralized Ac's and most wall fans are functional now, Cleanliness is lot better now Cafe Coffee day canteen is inside premises, But i feel there's a need of hiring more doctors , as doctor patient ratio is quite low. Being one the highest refferal centre of the state , entire load of Jammu region is on this hospital. So more doctors need to be recruited for sure for proper and improved quality of service to the patients. Also parking space is not managed properly...need to provide more parking space and better management
