Hotel Katra Grand

This has to be one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in during my 32 years of life. Everything about it was disappointing — the amenities, the staff, the service. Even the basic things like plates, spoons, and cups looked centuries old and so overused that I’ve genuinely seen beggars with better utensils. There was no hot water in the last week of Nov, and when we asked about it, Instead of trying to help, they spoke rudely and gave some excuse about a new electricity meter and said it's not their fault, well fault is ours that we booked this hotel. Honestly, save yourself the trouble. Don’t book this place unless you’re looking to ruin your stay. A simple ₹200 dormitory would be a thousand times better than this hotel. Reviews that you see here are nothing but the paid reviews. Only good thing was - Food (Above average).

I stayed at Hotel Katra Grand for 2 days and had a terrible experience. The food was bad, they didn’t provide drinking water, and I had to buy it from outside. The room phone wasn’t working, and the TV made loud noises. Also, the hotel is far from Katra main market, which makes it very inconvenient. Definitely not recommended.

I booked this hotel (or rather, guest house/lodge) based on the photos I saw on Goibibo/other booking apps, and I deeply regret my decision. The reality on the ground is significantly different from the online representation. Frankly, this establishment falls far below average. It's more akin to a basic guest house or lodge, and not a well-maintained one at that. The pictures are clearly outdated, misleading, or perhaps even taken of a completely different property altogether. Don't be fooled by the online appearance. The actual condition of the rooms and facilities is disappointing. I won't go into specific details, but suffice it to say that the experience was not what I expected, and certainly not worth the money. My advice: Skip this one entirely. Don't rely on the online pictures. You'll likely regret your choice. Look for alternatives with more recent and reliable reviews, or better yet, find a place with verifiable guest photos.
