2 months agoStay on this family owned houseboat was like staying with friends. A unique experience to spend the days in Kashmir in a traditional way on Dal Lake. Only three rooms and public road being a small boatride away ensure a quiet sleep at night. Individually served breakfast give you a energetic start into the day. And don’t forget the unique view over the lake to the mountains and the nearby boulevard with restaurants and shops.

a year agoI recently stayed at Houseboat Canberra in Srinagar, and unfortunately, it was far from a pleasant experience. Let me break down the issues I encountered: Cold and Uncomfortable: The houseboat was chilly, and despite the cold weather, the electric blanket didn’t work. It’s essential to have proper heating facilities, especially during colder months. Subpar Food: The quality of food served was below average. As a guest, I expected better meals, but unfortunately, they fell short of expectations. Service by Arhaan: The service provided by Arhaan was the worst part of my stay. His lack of knowledge and unprofessional behavior left a sour taste. Guests deserve courteous and efficient service, which was sorely lacking. Traditional Bukhari: The traditional bukhari (heating stove) in our room didn’t last for more than 10 minutes. This was highly disappointing, especially considering the cold climate. Booking Confusion: To add to the frustration, the houseboat assigned to us was different from the one we had booked. There was no prior information about this change, which caused unnecessary inconvenience. In summary, Houseboat Canberra failed to meet basic expectations in terms of comfort, service, and communication. I would not recommend it to fellow travelers.

a year agoReview for Houseboat Canberra: Our stay at Houseboat Canberra was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment we arrived, it became apparent that this would not be the cozy, comfortable experience we had hoped for. The cold atmosphere onboard was unbearable, and despite being provided with an electric blanket, it failed to function, leaving us shivering throughout the night. Adding to our discomfort was the below-average quality of the food served onboard. We had anticipated savoring local cuisine, but the meals were lackluster and uninspired, failing to meet even basic standards of taste and presentation. However, the most frustrating aspect of our stay was the service provided by Arhaan. His lack of knowledge and competence only added to our dissatisfaction. He seemed ill-prepared to address any of our concerns and was generally unhelpful throughout our stay. To make matters worse, the traditional Bukhari, a supposed highlight of the houseboat experience, proved to be a disappointment as well. It emitted smoke and failed to provide any significant warmth, lasting a mere ten minutes before sputtering out. Furthermore, we were shocked to discover that the houseboat assigned to us was not the one we had booked. There was no prior information provided about this change, leaving us feeling misled and disappointed. Overall, our experience at Houseboat Canberra was thoroughly disappointing. From the cold and uncomfortable accommodations to the subpar food and lackluster service, it's safe to say that we will not be returning, nor can we recommend it to others seeking a pleasant houseboat experience.

a year agoReview for Houseboat Canberra: Our experience at Houseboat Canberra was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we stepped aboard, it was evident that this would not be the serene and comfortable getaway we had hoped for. Firstly, the cold inside the houseboat was unbearable, and despite being promised an electric blanket, it failed to provide any warmth whatsoever. This made for an uncomfortable and restless night's sleep. To compound matters, the food served onboard was well below average. It lacked flavor, variety, and any semblance of quality. It was clear that little effort was put into ensuring a satisfactory dining experience for guests. However, the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the abysmal service provided by Arhaan. Not only was he lacking in basic knowledge and competence, but he also displayed a complete disregard for our concerns. His unprofessionalism only served to exacerbate our frustrations. Adding insult to injury, the traditional Bukhari, meant to provide warmth and ambiance, was a failure. Not only did it last for a mere ten minutes before sputtering out, but it also emitted a thick cloud of smoke, further detracting from the already dismal atmosphere. To make matters worse, the houseboat we were assigned to was not the one we had booked. This lack of communication only added to the sense of disappointment and disorganization that permeated our entire stay. In conclusion, Houseboat Canberra was a complete and utter disappointment. From the freezing temperatures to the subpar food, incompetent service, and malfunctioning amenities, our experience was nothing short of a disaster. We strongly advise against staying here and suggest looking elsewhere for a more enjoyable and comfortable houseboat experience.
