a serene gem tucked away in the hills of jammu! visited jhajjar kotli during my vaishno devi trip and was pleasantly surprised. he water body is clean, many people were taking dips and just enjoying the moment. it’s playful, peaceful, and feels close to nature. the surrounding park adds to the charm, and there’s even a cute little café nearby to relax at. if you’re around during sunset, don’t miss it, the view is simply magical. definitely worth a short detour if you’re in katra!

While traveling from Katra to Jammu, we stopped at Jhajjar Kotli, a beautiful picnic spot located about 30 km from Katra on the highway. The place is known for its scenic natural beauty, where you can witness the confluence of two rivers—one with clear water and the other with muddy flow. Watching the two streams merge and flow together, possibly into the Jammu Tawi River, is a captivating sight. It’s a peaceful spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended for a short stopover or picnic during your road trip between Katra and Jammu.

There was a garden and nearby to that garden a rever. We went with family and spent quality time. There was no food stalls around when we visited that place. Parking was free. Rever water was super clean. Good place to spend in the evening or 3-4 hours during a day.

Hidden gem near Katra. This place has great potential for tourism. Unfortunately when I visited there were hardly any tourists. Tourism activities can be promoted at this spot.

Small picnic spot situated in solitude. Not crowded during my visit (November). There was no drinking water available. Carry your own water and food. There were no washrooms. Ample parking space. There was a small island, a cafeteria was situated on it but it has been closed permanently. The gardens were clean. The centre of attraction is the rivulet (khadd) where people chill , bath and take pictures. Other than this river stream there was nothing that kids can enjoy .. There is a small dhaba where you can get Maggi, chips , juice etc. There should be a rest house. It was such a nice place to spend your time around nature. And also there should be some sign or board or something because first time visitors find it hard to locate the place. (If the internet is not working )
